Employees and representatives of the NJ Chamber of Commerce are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct at all times.

Events hosted by the NJ Chamber of Commerce provide our members and guests with the opportunity to network, gain and exchange information and discuss ways to improve and grow their businesses.

The NJ Chamber is dedicated to providing an inclusive, welcoming and harassment-free experience for all participants and guests at all of our events.

Participants at NJ Chamber events are expected to behave in accordance with professional standards and as prescribed in applicable laws governing appropriate workplace behavior.

The NJ Chamber of Commerce will not tolerate harassment at any of its events in any form, including, but not limited to, harassment based on gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, religion or any other status protected by law.

Harassment includes the use of abusive, offensive, or degrading language, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, sexual imagery and unwelcome sexual advances or request for sexual favors.

It further includes abusive, harassing, offensive or inappropriate postings on social media or other online publications or other forms of electronic communication during or after an NJ Chamber event and/or other postings that would improperly intrude on the personal and/or privacy rights of other attendees.

Participants who feel they are being harassed at NJ Chamber events or believe they have witnessed harassment of another individual at NJ Chamber events should immediately bring the incident to the attention of NJ Chamber employees or representatives at the event.

At its larger events, the NJ Chamber will provide a phone number for participants to use to report incidents of harassment. This phone number will connect the participant with NJ Chamber leadership.

If it is not practical to contact an NJ Chamber employee or representative immediately at the event, participants should contact the Chamber’s Trenton office (609-989-7888) and report the incident to Patricia Teffenhart.

Harassment reports at NJ Chamber events will be addressed immediately by NJ Chamber leadership and will be managed with sensitivity and discretion.

Any participant at an NJ Chamber event who is asked to stop behavior that is considered harassment is expected to comply immediately.

If a participant continues to engage in behavior that is considered harassment, the NJ Chamber will take appropriate action which may include expulsion from the event and exclusion from future NJ Chamber events.

This Code of Conduct may be revised at any time by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce and the terms are non-negotiable.
